Alice French (Bloomberg Japan equities reporter) thinks a well-telegraphed BOJ hike in September or October should not hurt Japanese stocks much, unlike the surprise in summer 2024.

I think if these rate hikes do come and if they're expected and the market is ready for them, it shouldn't have too much kind of negative impact.
