Where they stand
Views on the record but not scoreable bets: no single number and deadline to grade. Shown in their exact words, never scored.
Carole Nakhle expects the US-Iran conflict and the Hormuz disruption to drag on because the economic pain is uneven and not yet enough to force politicians, especially the US administration, to end it, which keeps oil supported.
But I feel that as long as the cost of this disruption is not felt evenly in the world is not causing enough pain. We should expect that conflict to drag on.
Carole Nakhle says $100 / high-$90s Brent is not a floor because the price is geopolitics-driven and can shed $20-40 in a week; no floor or ceiling should be called yet.
No I don't believe there is a floor ceiling at this stage. But definitely the 100 or the high 90s is not a floor
Carole Nakhle doubts the oil-inventory crisis story: non-OECD/China stocks are guesswork and if inventories were really drying up prices would already be far higher.
And if really inventories were drying up as some analysts are saying we should have expected to see prices to be much higher than the current levels we are seeing given the scale of the disruption.
